Almost half the kids playing on Lingokids come from homes where English isn’t the only language. Until now, the games they love didn’t always talk like them. In a study with families who use the app, one parent told us their son played a lot of activities “by intuition”, because he didn’t fully understand the English instructions. He was playing, sure. But he was guessing.

That changed on October 15, 2026. Lingokids turns 10 this year, and families in Mexico, our second-biggest market after the US, have been asking for Lingokids in Spanish for a long time.

What changed in Lingokids on October 15, 2026?

Kids can now play Lingokids in Spanish or Portuguese without waiting for a grown-up to translate what to do.

• Instructions and voices in their language. A game asks for something, and they get it the first time.
• Adapted, not just translated. Our education team adapted the games using our localization guidelines. Some only needed new words. Others, like letter and phonics games built around English sounds, had to be rethought for Spanish and Portuguese.
• Grown-up menus in Spanish and Portuguese too, so you’re not guessing either.
• English doesn’t change. It’s one more option, not a replacement.

Lingokids has more than 4,000 activities for kids 2 to 8. Hundreds of them are now in Spanish and Portuguese, and more are on the way.
