After Dark is the Lingokids Halloween Spotlight for kids 2 to 8: brand-new, spooky-but-cozy Halloween games that arrive in three drops between October 16 and October 30, 2026. The first drop is live now, with a two-player candy climb, a block-sorting puzzle and a Halloween painting studio. Like everything in Lingokids, it has no ads.
What is After Dark on Lingokids?
After Dark is a Halloween world inside the Lingokids app, and right now it sits first in Worlds. It doesn’t arrive all at once. It opens in three drops, one each Friday until Halloween, so there’s something new to find every week.
Expect pumpkins, potions, costumes, candy and one haunted cliff. The Lingokids crew is in on it too: Baby Bot, Billy, Lisa, Elliot and Cowy all show up in Halloween mode.
Each drop has its own feeling: a little scared, then curious, then brave. Kids don’t need to notice for it to work, but it’s a nice way to go from “that’s spooky” to “I’ve got this” in three weeks.
What’s in the first After Dark drop?
Drop 1 went live on October 16 with three games:
- Trick or Treat Climber: a Play Together game for two. Players help Baby Bot climb a haunted cliff to reach the candy by matching patterns, grabbing pumpkins for extra points and dodging bats. Younger kids tap, older kids drag.
- Scary Sort the Blocks: a 10-level block-sorting puzzle starring the crew in their Halloween costumes.
- Halloween Artist Playground: a painting studio with Halloween canvases and plenty of tools to draw and color however your kid likes.

Is After Dark too scary for young kids?
No. After Dark is light, playful spooky, made for kids as young as 2, and nothing in it is meant to actually frighten them. Painting a Halloween picture or sorting costumed blocks is about as scary as a pumpkin sticker.
If your kid gets the jitters anyway, talking about what feels scary (and what doesn’t) helps. We wrote more about that in how to help kids with Halloween fears.
Can siblings or parents play After Dark together?
Yes. Trick or Treat Climber is a Play Together game, made for two players on one device, so a sibling, a cousin or a grown-up can climb alongside your kid. Because it works with taps or drags, a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old can both keep up.
What’s coming on October 23 and October 30?
Drop 2, October 23:
- Magic Potion Maker: help Billy, dressed as a wizard, mix a spooky pumpkin potion one step at a time.
- After Dark Sleepwalker: a puzzle game where kids place objects so a sleepwalking Elliot gets safely back to bed.
Drop 3, October 30:
- Halloween Dress Up Party: Lisa is off to a Halloween dance party. Kids pick her costume and show off her moves.
