self-care-ideas-for-mothers

No matter how you define yourself – mother, caregiver, parent, grandma, etc… it’s important to recognize all the great work you’re doing in raising an amazing kid.

When you feel relaxed, energized, and appreciated, you have more room to love and take care of your daily life. That’s why it’s so beneficial to actively make some time to celebrate yourself for being an amazing mother! Here are some self-care ideas for you when your “mom-battery” is feeling low:

🎟️ Diva Vouchers

Make some shameless vouchers and hand them out to your family. Explain to your tiny human that this ticket will make you super happy. If you have a partner, you can encourage them to help your child get excited about fulfilling these wishes for you!

To make these, simply cut up paper squares in the shape of a ticket and write down the things you want. For example, you might write:

  • A big hug from [your child]
  • An at-home manicure and pedicure
  • Your favorite home-cooked meal or takeout
  • A night out with friends

📆 Take the Day Off

Okay, so there’s no day off when it comes to parenting, but you can take the day off from those nagging responsibilities that take up so much time.

Leave the dishes for another day. Don’t worry about doing the laundry. The house can be cleaned tomorrow. Have a picnic, watch a movie, dance together… cherish your loved ones!

Take the whole day and enjoy your family without worrying about pesky tasks.

🧘 Schedule Some Me-Time

Ask your partner, family, friend, or babysitter to watch your kid for a while. Bask in the freedom of alone time!

This can be as simple as taking a long walk, going to a yoga class, or taking an uninterrupted bath. Maybe treat yourself to an afternoon at a cafe with a book and a latte!

It’s important to take time to care for yourself so that you feel refreshed and rejuvenated. It will help you feel ready to take on the tasks of caring for your child later on.
